Does free content cannibalize your offer? No — it expands it. Your free readers and your high-ticket clients are two different people with two different needs.

Here's a fear I hear constantly: if I give away my education for free, no one will pay me. You're charging high-ticket for customized one-to-one work, and you're scared that writing about it cheaply will cannibalize the lucrative part of your business. The reality is that's a faulty belief — and I've watched people running multi-billion-dollar companies fall for it too.
Start here: you're providing two completely different products for two completely different people. The person who reads your free post or pays $20 a month is not the person who pays you hundreds of thousands for one-to-one work. You're not cannibalizing — you're expanding how many people you can serve. When I ran Category Pirates, the paid newsletter maxed around $150K a year. The real win? CEOs read it, loved it, and asked us to apply all of it to them specifically — for millions in cash and stock. Same ideas, completely different product.
Look at Hormozi. He gives away an entire offers course for free. The same ideas live in a $1,000/month Skool group, a $5,000 workshop, a $35,000 program with his exec team, and $130,000 to work with him directly. Free to $130K — the only thing that changes is the level of access and personalization.
In this video I break down the real answer to "does free content cannibalize your offer" — why free and high-ticket serve two different people, and how to build a value ladder from free content up to premium access, so you stop leaving money on the table. Give yourself permission and give people more.

If you're new to my channel… hey there!
My name is Nicolas Cole and I've been writing online since 2007.
Since then, I've generated over a billion views on my writing, written 10+ books, and built multiple 7+ figure writing-related businesses, including two of the largest writing programs on the Internet: Ship 30 for 30 & Premium Ghostwriting Academy.
I have made millions of dollars writing online, so I fundamentally reject this narrative (pun intended) "nobody makes a living as a writer."
Yes, you absolutely can make a living as a writer. In fact, you can make more than just a living. You can make tons of money as a writer… IF… you're a digital writer, and embrace learning the new skills required to thrive in a digital world.
Which is why I started this YouTube channel.
Consider me your Digital Writing Mentor!
On this channel I talk about:
Digital Writing
Ghostwriting
Writing With AI
Self-Publishing
Writing Services & Business Models
So if you have any questions, drop me a comment on any video and I'll answer them in a future video!
Keep writing,
Cole
