Descript AI Editing: Remove Retakes & Edit for Clarity
Descript is a transcript-based video/podcast editor with a bunch of cool AI tools and features. In this video, we'll explore two of those features that are great for getting through some of the most boring parts of video editing: Remove Retakes and Edit for Clarity.

The AI built into Descript (or any other AI) isn't perfect. But it can give you a solid head-start and make the editing process feel a little less overwhelming. Remove retakes attempts to find all the instances where you said a word, phrase, or line multiple times (trying to get your delivery and words just right) and cuts out all but one take. As you'll see in the video, you'll still need to do some home human adjustment for the ideal outcome. Edit for Clarity looks at your entire transcript with the eye of an editor, searching for and cutting out the words and moments that don't appear necessary to convey the message.
Both of these AI video editing tools can be used in a few different ways and there are some settings that you might want to know about before you get going. That's what this video is for! We'll take a video I recorded recently and put the Descript AI Remove Retakes and Edit for Clarity tools to work... trying out different settings and approaches, evaluating the results, and pointing out some of the human touch that'll be required to get the job done.
