In this tutorial, learn how to add or update CNAME (Canonical Name) records in your Wix account. CNAME records are used to point an alias name to a canonical domain name, and we'll show you exactly how to configure them.

What Are CNAME Records?
CNAME records map alias names (e.g., "shop" or "blog") to the main domain name, ensuring everything is connected correctly in the Domain Name System (DNS).

Steps Covered in This Video:

Access the Domains Page: Navigate to Domains in your Wix account and open the Manage DNS Records section.
Add a CNAME Record: Enter a new host name and the web address it points to, then save your changes.
Update an Existing CNAME Record: Edit the host name and web address as needed, then confirm.
⚠️ Important Note:
If your domain is connected to Wix via pointing, you must manage your CNAME records with your domain host (not in Wix).

Pro Tip:
Double-check your host name and web address values to ensure your settings are correct before saving.
