A little fanvid dedicated to this absolute mess of a relationship-- the exact kind I love to obsess over. Whatever way you interpret their relationship, in spite of the overwhelming evidence to suggest a romantic one in the film itself, I hope this video does some justice to it.
One of the cruxes of their relationship breakdown, in my opinion, is Henry's feeling that he has been betrayed and passed over, even though it may not be entirely accurate as Thomas himself says. This video explores the feelings of betrayal and regret both have, as well as looking back on the moments of their relationship both wanted to salvage before Henry sort of assassinated Thomas. Oh well, not all relationships are perfect!
A lot of experimental editing and colouring here that isn't usual for me but I think it really was needed to express their subtextual thoughts and suit the modern nature of the song. Hopefully this impromptu video (as a distraction from a main tribute I've been planning-- yet one I spent about 10 hours on!) is the sign I will be more prolific and more varied, but who knows!
