Is Home Birth Safe? The Risks of a Humanized Home Birth

Scientific evidence indicates that planned home births carry the same risk of maternal and neonatal mortality as normal hospital births. I know that the false sense of security a hospital gives us makes us doubt this video, but watch until the end to understand.
According to the literature, when a woman feels safe, there is a greater chance of a successful birth. But this doesn't mean that what guarantees safety is the hospital. Rather, it's the place where she feels safest. And is the hospital really the safest place? Here on the profile there's a post about the structure of a home birth and what a midwife can do for you; the only thing she can't do in your home is a cesarean section.
It is also scientific evidence that home births have fewer interventions, a lower rate of cesarean sections, analgesia, episiotomy, and any other intervention.
Less intervention means less risk, because when we respect the physiology of childbirth, it flows more safely for both mother and baby.
Natural childbirth is considered safe for women with low-risk pregnancies who feel secure being at home. It's not enough to simply be a low-risk pregnancy; she must want and feel secure with this decision.
The risk of serious complications only increases in the case of a maternal emergency due to distance from the hospital or unforeseen events during transit. It's important that the family is aware of this risk.
That said, to be considered safe, home birth must be well-planned and accompanied by an experienced team. Furthermore, the family should pre-determine which medical professional will be called in case of an emergency and to which nearest hospital the transfer will be made, if necessary.
