How to Fix Missing gpedit.msc (Group Policy Editor) in Windows 11 | Enable Group Policy Easily
In this video, you’ll learn how to fix the missing Group Policy Editor (gpedit.msc) in Windows 11. This issue is common in some Windows 11 editions where the Local Group Policy Editor is not available by default.
Follow this simple step-by-step method to restore Group Policy using Command Prompt (Admin).
🛠️ Method: Enable Group Policy via DISM Commands
Open Command Prompt as Administrator and run the following commands one by one:
DISM /Online /Add-Capability /CapabilityName:Rsat.GroupPolicy.Management.Tools~~~~0.0.1.0
FOR %F IN ("%SystemRoot%\servicing\Packages\Microsoft-Windows-GroupPolicy-ClientTools-Package~*.mum") DO (
DISM /Online /NoRestart /Add-Package:"%F"
)
FOR %F IN ("%SystemRoot%\servicing\Packages\Microsoft-Windows-GroupPolicy-ClientExtensions-Package~*.mum") DO (
DISM /Online /NoRestart /Add-Package:"%F"
)
📌 After Completion:
Restart your PC
Press Win + R
Type gpedit.msc and hit Enter
⚠️ Notes:
Works on most Windows 11 Pro / Home environments (depending on system restrictions)
Make sure you run CMD as Administrator
Wait for each DISM process to complete fully before moving to the next
