How do you know if you're strong? Renowned coach and powerlifter Dan John developed his own system, outlining a number of criteria that a strong person can achieve. So, if you can accomplish any of these points, that's a big plus for you. Anything you can't do is probably just something you need to work on. So, watch the video to the end; it's going to be very interesting.

So, the first criterion is the bodyweight bench press. The bench press is one of the basic exercises in powerlifting, and it truly does demonstrate a significant degree of strength. Of course, everyone is in different weight classes, and everything is entirely relative, but Dan John determines that if you can bench press at least your own weight, you can already be considered quite strong in this regard. However, one very important caveat, even a warning, is necessary here. If you've never bench pressed a barbell, don't go and try right now: "Can I bench press my own bodyweight?" You can't. If you've never bench pressed a barbell, then you can't.

And in general, I think it's very important to warn you for the future, and I'll say it in every video right away: don't rush into this standard without thinking. It's simply dangerous, and you could easily injure yourself. Please remember safety precautions and maintain a healthy mind.

The next criterion for a strong man, according to Dan John, is a deadlift of twice your own bodyweight. On the one hand, this may seem quite simple, but on the other hand, some people actually spend years working toward it. Some people can't do it due to insufficient muscle training, while others can't do it because of previous injuries (for example, back injuries). Again, a call to caution.
