In this video I go over a set of 11 tips I think are important useful for anyone just starting their game developer journey. Although I build on gamemaker, these tips are universal for all game developers using all game engines. I hope you find them useful!

#3 - Get involved in the community.
#4 - Don't be afraid to ask for help.
#5 - Take advice seriously but, with a grain of salt.
#6 - Push your tutorials.
#7 - Don't be scared to make your own art or edit other peoples.
#8 - Take your time with music and sound effects.
#9 - Don't let coding scare you.
#10 - Implement a form of source control.
#11 - Do a game jam!
