New research finds that our current method of burning low earth orbit satellites (70% of which are Elon Musk's Starlink satellites) creates nanoparticles of aluminium oxide.
These nanoparticles react with chlorine from residual CFC's in our atmosphere, destroying our ozone layer for decades longer than the original satellite was up in space for!
Perhaps it's time to rethink how we dispose of our space junk.
