PLO | Falsely declaring assets, Nhon Trach District Chairman loses both money and position | On June 23, the acting Chairman of Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee, Mr. Vo Tan Duc, signed a decision to remove Ms. Nguyen Thi Giang Huong from the position of Chairman of Nhon Trach District People's Committee. This decision was based on the conclusion of the Provincial Party Committee's Inspection Commission and the Standing Committee of Dong Nai Provincial Party Committee on Ms. Huong's dishonesty in declaring assets. Previously, Ms. Huong was also removed from the position of Deputy Secretary of Nhon Trach District Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term for similar violations.
The investigation and verification process of the Provincial Party Committee's Inspection Commission showed that Ms. Huong deliberately concealed the origin of the undeclared money and did not provide complete documents related to her assets and income. This behavior not only violated the individual but also seriously affected the reputation of the Party organization and Nhon Trach District People's Committee, creating bad public opinion in society and reducing people's trust.
In March 2024, Ms. Huong lost more than 170 billion VND from her personal account because a group of people used tricks to withdraw money. This case is currently being investigated by the Ministry of Public Security and Dong Nai Provincial Police. The decision to remove Ms. Huong from office is a decisive step by the Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee and the Provincial Party Committee's Inspection Commission in ensuring transparency and honesty in asset management of officials and party members.
Ms. Huong's case is not only an important lesson about honesty and transparency but also a stern warning to all officials and party members about their responsibility to set an example and comply with legal regulations in asset declaration. This contributes to protecting the reputation of the Party organization and strengthening people's trust in the fairness and transparency in the management of local authorities.
