Hello, my Virtual Explorers to another tutorial video!
Have you been like many others who have entered Second Life, got extremely confused about how everything works, the tutorial didn't help, the people are doing their own thing, and you're not sure how to navigate everything effectively and then logged off and never returned? If the answer is yes, you're not the only one to have experienced this. Many new users have left from being frustrated or confused. When things aren't straight forward it's hard to have a good experience.
I present to you An Ultimate Beginners Guide to Second Life's Firestorm viewer. This video is meant for all my beginners who need a walk-through of the Firestorm view with audio and visuals. If you are a kinesthetic learner (someone who learns by doing like myself) I highly recommend following along with your own viewer while watching this video.
You will get a walk-through of the following:
What each icon at the bottom of the screen is, clicking through them, and what you can do with each icon.
Maps and Peoples Icon - How to IM people, offer teleports, request teleports, add people to groups, find your groups, find people on the mini map and main map, etc.
Search and Destinations - quick walkthrough on how to find places to visit
The Tabs at the top and what you can find underneath each one
Camera and viewpoint angles and how they can help you to have a good experience.
The help tab at the top and the guidebook icon at the bottom
These are just a few things covered in this guide. But we go through everything you need to know to further understand the viewer how to perform different functions and what everything is used for. If you are stuck this is a great video to refer to. There are a lot of tutorials on Second Life but I feel when I watched some of them they were too hard to follow or didn't go in-depth enough for me to really follow along and understand what I'm doing. I really hope this helps along your journey!
Signing off till next time!
