Hi guys,
After the video on the Mail architecture, here are the explanations on how to implement POP3S with the NAS and UTM (optional) and what are the security benefits of going through the UTM.
This will allow you to have a simpler mail server where you have the complete control.
In this scenario you rely on a third party mail system to receive mails so you don't have to bother with having a full mail server with its drawbacks. The mails are then retrieved with POP3S every 5 minutes then deleted from the third party, so you have better confidentiality and privacy.
They are safely stored on your own NAS.
The admin has to allow users to use POP3 retrieval.
So :
In the Mail Plus Server package, give the admin account a mailbox
Connect to the Mail Plus app with this admin account
Go to the upper right corner to configure some settings
You should then have something linked to POP3 retrieval
Activate the POP3 retrieval function and configure a retrieval interval (IE : 5 minutes)
After this, the admin mailbox can be deactivate in the mail plus server app
Connect to the mail plus app with a normal user, and configure for that userm the POP3 settings like in my video
If you want the mail to be deleted from the POP3 server, just check the box related to that.
