Amazing job, Farmington Jr. High Band! They were awarded the Sudler Cup from the John Phillip Sousa Foundation and the Blue Ribbon from the National Band Association, which are the two most prestigious awards given in the band world.
Get to know the FJHS Jazz Ensemble, a four-time winner of the prestigious Downbeat Magazine Downbeat Award. Each year a panel of judges chooses the outstanding ensemble from entries comprised of student ensembles from around the country. To be selected as a Downbeat winner is one of the highest honors a jazz ensemble can receive.
