Project Zomboid is an open-world zombie-infested sandbox. It asks a simple question: how will you die?
In the towns of Muldraugh and West Point, survivors must loot houses, build defenses, and do everything they can to delay their inevitable death day after day. No help is forthcoming—their survival depends on their own cunning, luck, and ability to evade a relentless horde.
A hardcore sandbox zombie survival game with a focus on realistic survival.
Online multiplayer survival with persistent player execution servers.
Hundreds of zombies with swarm mechanics and in-depth visual and auditory systems.
A comprehensive aiming system and real-time lighting, sound, and visibility mechanisms. Hide in the shadows, stay silent, and turn off the lights at night, or at least hang sheets from the windows.
Vehicles with full physics and deep, realistic gameplay mechanics.
Use tools and items to craft weapons, barricade, and cook. You can even build zombie-proof forts by chopping down trees, sawing wood, and scavenging for supplies.
Cope with depression, boredom, hunger, thirst, and disease as you try to survive.
Day turns to night. Power fades. Hordes migrate. Winter sets in. Nature slowly takes over.
Farming, fishing, carpentry, cooking, trapping, character customization, skills, and perks that develop based on your in-game activities.
Real zombies that don't run. (Unless you tell them to in the sandbox menu.)
Imaginative challenge scenarios and the "Last Stand" instant-action mode, in addition to the usual sandbox and survival modes.
