About Vanessa:
Vanessa Joy is a professional wedding photographer. With an emphasis on photojournalistic wedding photos, she primarily photographs weddings in New York City and Manhattan areas, New Jersey, Austin, and Dallas, Texas.
Vanessa focuses on creating a unique boutique experience with each of her couple's wedding photography. She is also sponsored by Canon and Profoto in recognition of her international success as one of the top photographers in the world.
She has over 20 years of experience as a photographer. She enjoys capturing everything from Hill Country Weddings, large NYC weddings, and elegant formal affairs, to farm weddings with rustic wedding photos and luxury wedding events.
And yes!… She still gets butterflies at every wedding.
Some fun facts about Vanessa:
• Her first professional photography job was in 1998.
• She is a Canon Explorer of Light. An honor bestowed by Canon to only 5 wedding photographers in the United States.
• She writes for ShutterMag, one of the world's largest photography magazine.
• She was a Spanish Teacher.
• She has won multiple, prestigious wedding photography competitions and awards.
• She wrote her first book in 2019: ”All about Photography Lighting” and has authored three more photography and business books since.
