INTERVIEW WITH RAFAEL LOZANO-HEMMER -- COPENHAGEN ART FESTIVAL
Rafael Lozano-Hemmer's art project "Voice Array" at Copenhagen Art Festival is a sound installation and will be shown at Nikolaj Contemporary Art Center.
The project consists of two intercoms (door phones), where the participants speak into. Their voices will then be translated into flashes of light and the blinking pattern will be stored as a loop. The installation can only consist of 288 recordings, so each new recording will push the previous recordings one position down and let out the eldest recording, which will then be released into the room an can then be heard by itself.
