Desert or Dessert?
Careful! "Desert" and "dessert" are spelled almost the same, but that extra "S" makes a big difference!
“Desert" (with one "s") refers to a dry, sandy area of land.
For example, the Sahara Desert is a large desert in Africa.
"Dessert" (with two "s's") refers to a sweet food that is often eaten after a meal
Ice cream and cake are examples of desserts.
