Boudicca - The Warrior Queen Who Defied Rome
In the early first century, Rome had annexed most of Brittain and had many Celtic allies, including a tribe known as the Iceni.
Once the Icenic King died, he left a testment stating that his lands should be co-ruled by his wife Boudicca and the Empire.
However, the Romans denied Boudicca of her rights, annexing all Iceni lands, as well as torturing and raping her and her daughters.
In response, she rallied her peple and led a rebelion against the Roman Empire.
