For the first time, we've had not only a pet owner but also their pet in our studio. Dina Ponomareva dropped by our podcast between work errands. And she was accompanied by her kitten, Yegorka, who had happily taken a liking to our cozy space.
Seeing Dina with a kitten or puppy is a common occurrence. And not just because she's a veterinarian. She's a true animal lover and often helps find homes for stray animals, though she's not a member of any volunteer organizations. We talked with Dina about the health of cats and dogs. What should you absolutely avoid feeding your pets? How can you tell if your dog or cat is at risk of heatstroke in the summer heat? Why don't vaccinations protect against this (I was surprised!)? Is it necessary to neuter pets?
It must be said that Dina isn't exactly your typical veterinarian. She doesn't seem to have the composure necessary for her profession. Her empathy for animals is palpable even in everyday conversation. And this conversation turned out to be about more than just pet health. It was more of a warm, friendly conversation about love, care, and responsibility for our little friends.
