"You Traced" || Digital art programs for beginners🎨
The digital Art program I'm using that has this built in 3D model is Clip Studio Paint EX and I've used this back when I was a beginner digital artist and I think its one of the best programs I've used for creating my digital art for my webcomics~
So I received an instagram comment on my illustration video that said
"You traced"
So I thought they were commenting because they wanted to know if I traced or not. It didn't register fully to me that they were just leaving a statement comment and not a question comment because there was no punctuations.
So I responded Yup I did trace and then I proceeded to share my process because maybe they were curious how I created my art so they can do the same.
But I was wrong.
They told me that what I was doing wasn't art.
I had one of those core memory moments then because this used to be the same internal dialogue I would say to myself.
I used to prioritized others opinions of art over my
own.
I would allow others to define what art was for me instead of defining it for myself.
For me art is freedom and for me there is generally no definition of it so comments like these no longer hit how they used to because my outlook has changed.
My dreams have changed back to what they were when I wasa little girl. I'm no longer looking to be accepted by others or tip toe around in fear because I'm afraid of getting these comments.
I'm achieving my childhood dreams of creating art and webtoons that I love and doing what brings me happiness.
So I responsed to their comment thanking them for sharing what their perspective of what they considered art to be with me and then cheered them on by encouraging them to keep on creating the art that brings them joy and happiness.
To which they told me to shut up tracer🥲
So I have a question to ask you all. Are these the things you're saying to yourself? Is receiving comments like these what's stopping your from getting into drawing your webtoon? What's yourmain goal? What dream do you want to accomplish? Are comments like this stopping you?
