Instagram and Snapchat don’t offer a direct way to share reels to your Snapchat story, but you can still do it manually. When you try sharing an Instagram reel using the built-in share options, you’ll notice that Snapchat only allows you to send it to friends via chat, not to your story. To get around this, the easiest solution is to use the reel’s link and add it yourself.

Start by opening Instagram and tapping on the Reels icon. Find the reel you want to share, then tap the three-dot menu or share icon. From the menu, select Copy Link. This will copy the reel’s direct URL to your clipboard.

Next, open Snapchat and start creating a new story as you normally would. In the text or link section, paste the Instagram reel link you just copied. Once pasted, Snapchat will attach it to your story. You can then customize the snap with stickers, captions, or filters before posting. When viewers tap on the link in your story, they’ll be redirected to Instagram to watch the reel.

This method ensures that you can add any Instagram reel to your Snapchat story, even though the direct share option doesn’t allow it. If you’d prefer, you can also save the reel to your device first—provided the creator has allowed downloads—and then upload it to Snapchat as a video. However, copying and pasting the link is the most reliable method.
