This is a short introductory tutorial on Zero-Span operation on a Spectrum Analyzer. It describes what zero-span is, how to set it up, and how to interpret the display. Zero-Span is typically used to observe the Amplitude variations of an RF signal vs. Time - basically demodulating an AM signal. A "trick" is also briefly discussed which talks about using a "slope demod" to be able to view FM (frequency modulation) as well.
