I replaced Windows with Linux on an old mini PC, and in this beginner guide I’ll show you how step by step.
For this video, I’m using an older Beelink U55 mini PC because it’s much closer to the kind of small Windows box many people already have under a TV, in a drawer, or sitting unused after Windows started feeling too heavy.
I’ll show you how to download Linux Mint Cinnamon, create a bootable USB installer using Rufus, boot the mini PC from USB, test Linux before installing it, fix common Wi-Fi issues using USB tethering, install Linux Mint, update the system, check drivers, adjust display and sound settings, and install useful apps.
This is not about turning an old mini PC into a gaming monster or 4K editing machine. It’s about making it useful again for browsing, YouTube, documents, light media playback, and everyday desktop use.
