To facilitate the installation of Windows 11 or the migration to Windows 11 Home Edition, it's best to create or open a Microsoft account beforehand.
For example, if you have a Microsoft Office 365 subscription linked or shared with your Microsoft account, you can use the terabytes of OneDrive to back up your important data before upgrading.
You might also want to create and have Microsoft accounts for your family and thus establish parental control over the use of family PCs.
