How to automatically redact images with couple of clicks?
Hi everyone! Welcome to the CaseGuard Studio training course.
In this video, we will cover automatic image redaction.
Create a new redaction project and title it a descriptive name. There’s no need to add files from your machine just yet, as there is a much faster option inside of CaseGuard specifically for image redaction.
At the top of your workspace, you will see the “create album” button. Click on the button to open up the “create album” pop up window. From here, you can add all the images that you want to redact to your album by selecting the green “add files” button.
Select images that has faces and license plates so we can run face and license plates detection on them automatically and apply the redaction effects.
Next to the green add files button, you can see the file count to the right. In this album, we have 644 photos. Once you’ve selected your images, be sure to click the save button.
The album will pop up under the project files panel. You can see that the number of photos in our album corresponds to the number of frames for this “video”. This is only for editing mode. Once we export our redacted files, they will save as individual, redacted images.
To begin automatic image redaction, click on the smiley face button on the left side of your workspace. This opens up the AI automatic detection pop-up window.
Select the object you want the machine to detect and redact. In this example, select faces and license plates detection.
Be sure to select the shape, effect, and effect level you would like to apply for the objects detected.
In the advanced settings panel, you can choose to schedule your redaction for a later time, like when you go to lunch, or go home for the evening. Once you have selected the objects you want the system to detect, the shape and effect for those objects, and looked through the advanced settings, click detect.
You can see the status bar at the bottom of your workspace which shows how far into the redaction process you are.
In just a few seconds, CaseGuard studio automatically detected and redacted 644 images, which would have taken hours if not days to do manually.
Let’s export our redacted album by clicking on the green export button at the top of your workspace.
The album has been redacted. As you can see, all of the borders around the faces and license plates are not present in the redacted file.
To locate your images on your machine, select the open project folder under your project files panel.
Here, we can see two folders titled “album”. Click on the redacted folder.
This is where all of your redacted images were saved. Double click on an image to open the photo on your machine. As you can see, the image is redacted.
You can always make redaction edits on your original image in CaseGuard studio, by clicking on the original album.
Move, resize, or draw another redaction box as needed. When you are finished, click on the green export button to export new redacted images.
