Yes that's right, this video isn't just 360°, it's also completely VR ready! That means it's 3D in every direction. Everywhere you look, there should be an illusion of depth. This is called stereoscopic 360 video, and I've been meaning to work on it ever since my 3D Virtual Reality Experience Tutorial for Blender. I hope you enjoy my first dedicated 360 degree virtual reality video.
Watch this video with your favourite pair of VR goggles, as long as they support YouTube. Even Google cardboard will work. I've done a lot of testing on Google Daydream and if you have that I highly recommend watching with your Daydream View headset.
I was really excited about the inclusion of JUMP! style, fully 3D, 360 degree virtual reality videos within Blender. In some ways, implementing the same idea behind JUMP rigs yields a much more elegant result in 3D animation packages like Blender. Instead of fitting together 16 Go Pros to estimate what your 360 panorama looks like, blender can render a perfect panorama without any stitching. By just tweaking some settings, Blender will start exporting perfectly stitched, JUMP style stereoscopic VR videos. All I had to do was edit the video together and inject the metadata :)
