How to fix Missing or damaged ink cartridge error message on HP Printers
This fix will apply to all HP Photosmart Printers that use a four or 5 ink cartridge system such as #564 and #920 ink. HP Photosmart and HP Officejet. Check two things first: make sure the chip is on the cartridge and make sure the metal contacts on the bottom of the carriage are in place. In this printer, the contacts on Black cartridge were damaged and we were able to fix the issue, and the Photo Black cartridge chip fell off. Luckily due to adhesive on the chip, it didn't fall far into the printer but was on the metal bar below the printhead. Hope this video helps you out!
