Spring is here, which means it's track season and also when one of the most common running injuries appears, shin splints.

Shin splints are painful, and the standard medical advice is to use ice and ibuprofen. We say this is the worst thing you can do!

Ice can just damage the tissue (shin splints are painful microtears of muscle from the bone) and actually prolong tissue healing.

Ibuprofen causes thousands of deaths every year in the US alone, mainly by causing gut bleeding. Save ibuprofen for only the most extreme circumstances of pain - and shin splints are NOT that!

Instead, you can use these four botanical medicines:
Devil's claw
Ginger
Curcumin
Boswellia
Together, these 4 natural medicines work wonders for the pain and inflammation of shin splints, without the dangerous side effects of ibuprofen!

Next, use the proteolytic enzymes Protease and Serrapeptase. Used together, they can short circuit the body's pain chemicals, and speed tissue healing.

You can find these botanical medicines and proteolytic enzymes in Anti-Inflammatory formula https://www.naturalathleteclinic.com/....

Additionally, Musculoskeletal formula has additional nutrients the body needs to heal up the tissue damage in shin splints. https://www.naturalathleteclinic.com/...

Consume an anti-inflammatory diet- lose the alcohol, processed food, fried food and sugar. Eat more veggies, fruits, nuts, seeds, legumes and plenty of fresh water.

Lastly, you need to rest, which just means quit running for a bit. Stop now, or the shin splints will last months, rather than just a week or two if you follow this protocol. You can still go to the gym and ride, swim (use a pull buoy), or lift weights to keep your cardio fitness up, and let your shins heal.
