I’ve been hearing people hype up Bolt as the tool that lets designers build real products without drowning in code… so I decided to test it in the most chaotic way possible.
For the last 48 hours, I’ve basically lived inside Figma, Procreate, and Bolt — designing and coding 3 tiny web apps just to see how far a designer can push this thing.
This isn’t a tutorial. It’s more like: me, sleep-deprived, vibing, designing pixels, and watching AI write code faster than I can think.
💻 What I ended up building:
• A pixel-style weather app
• A pomodoro timer (with my own pixel assets)
• A tiny digital Instax camera app (with a little Claude AI magic)
Bolt basically did all the heavy lifting on the coding side, and honestly… I was not expecting it to go this smoothly.
🛠 Tools I used
Figma — UI + layouts
Bolt — turning designs into real code
Procreate — pixel art
