As per a recent notification, the government has asked all pharma companies with a turnover of over Rs 250 crore to implement the revised GMP standards within six months, while medium and small-scale enterprises with a turnover of less than Rs 250 crore will have to implement it within 12 months.
This is a fairly important development as the government has provided a deadline for the domestic pharmaceutical manufacturers to comply with WHO standard GMP after concerns were raised by the government over the standards of drugs manufactured in the country.
