Yesterday, July 23, 2026, at 11:40 AM at Government House, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul addressed the statement from Taiwan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressing disappointment with the Thai government after his visit to China. Taiwan agreed with Taiwan's statement that Taiwan is an inseparable part of China. Anutin stated that Thailand has consistently upheld the One China policy, a new stance, and that any cooperation does not conflict with Taiwan's policy. Thailand does not obstruct anything, as for Thailand, it remains a "One China" policy.
Regarding Taiwan's statement expressing disappointment with Thailand, Anutin said it was Taiwan's position, which Thailand acknowledges, and reiterated that Thailand's policy is clear and will not have a negative impact.
When asked if any diplomatic measures were needed to foster understanding, Anutin replied that understanding already exists.
As for whether Taiwan might perceive Thailand as biased, Anutin smiled before responding that Thailand's policy is "One China," without bias, and declined to comment on social media discussions.
When asked about concerns regarding the potential impact on Thai workers in Taiwan, including the possible revocation of visa-free entry, Anutin reiterated that Thailand's policy is clear. When pressed on whether a written explanation of Thailand's stance would be required, the Prime Minister stated that Thailand's policy is clear.
