Blender 5.1 finally adds native face center snapping — a feature that precision modelers have been working around for years. In this tutorial I show you exactly how it works, where it saves real time in your workflow, and the one thing you need to watch out for before you start relying on it.
Blender's new face center snap lets you align objects directly to the center of any face in a single move, without edge center workarounds or manual adjustments. I demonstrate it with a practical hard surface example and show how the snap base setting gives you full control over which point of your object lands on the face center.
But there's a catch: topology matters. N-gons change how Blender calculates the face center, and the result isn't always where you'd visually expect it. I show you exactly when and why this happens, and how to handle it in a real scene.
