My name is Tiago Silva and I'm an IT student in the University of Gloucestershire and one of my modules are "Introduction to Physical computing and Programming" which this video is part of my project for this module.

This project is about transferring data from Arduino into Excel using a Sonic sensor; the function of the product is to detect an object using sonic sound waves and if its within the safety zone (40cm) then an LED will turn on and depending on the LED a statement will be generated saying "NameA is in the room" or "NameA is not in the room" and then sent into Excel from Arduino and when the data was recorded/stored.

The main technology used in the video is Arduino and components put together to make it, using a Sonic Sensor, wires and some LED's, this also includes software such as the coding for Arduino and Microsoft Excel which is where the data is being transferred to.

One of the good things about this product is that it can check if someone has gone through, entered or is occupying a room, which can be used for security purposes and this information can be sent to excel and recorded as part of a database which make the second good point about this product.
This can be used to check when the person or something was in the room as when the statement is sent to excel it also outlines the actual time it was recorded, examples of usage can be for security purpose or if an object or person is or isn't present in a room or area.

The contributions which I have made was combining the code for the Sonic Sensor and Excel together so that I can make a statement that can be used and sent into Excel. Then I edit pieces of the Marco so that I can enter the correct and relevant data which I needed in the Excel cells; if the Marco wasn't edited the project would have ended in failure if I couldn't enter the "string" I wanted to record.

The excel spreadsheet was made by Roberto Valgolio. I have only edited the Marco in excel and kept the spreadsheet I needed; so that I can transfer the data that I needed from Arduino
