Roza Yegorovna Shanina was a Soviet solo sniper in a separate female sniper platoon of the 3rd Belorussian Front, a recipient of the Order of Glory, and one of the first female snipers to receive this award. She was known for her ability to accurately fire doublets—two shots in quick succession—at moving targets. Roza Shanina is credited with 59 confirmed kills of enemy soldiers and officers.
