The Underground Water System That Let Desert Kingdoms Exist
A desert city with gardens, workshops, and running fountains should not exist on a dry plateau, yet places like Yazd made it work through the qanat networks that sustained desert kingdoms. This episode follows the invisible tunnels beneath the sand, where groundwater was captured miles away and carried by gravity into towns that depended on every drop.
