In this video you will learn that a Gerund is an ing verb functioning as a noun. As with other nouns, a gerund can function as the head of a noun phrase. This particular type of noun phrase is called a gerund phrase. In the sentence "My aunt and I always enjoy baking a cake." baking a cake is a gerund phrase.
