In the 1950s, the way we conceived and treated depression changed forever: antidepressants were discovered by chance, the most famous of which, Prozac, would only arrive a few decades later.
In this video, I'll explain how antidepressants work and how many classes there are: MAOIs, TCAs, SSRIs, SNRIs, SARIs, NARIs, NaSSAs, and DNRIs. These are apparently meaningless acronyms, but each of them indicates a particular class of antidepressants that act on a specific neurotransmitter.
