A monument to Ukrainian poet Taras Shevchenko in Kharkiv is lined with sacks to protect against bombing. The monument's height is over 16 meters, and Taras Shevchenko himself is 5.5 meters. The statue is a monument to the Ukrainian people, who protect its culture even under bombs.
All footage was taken from the ground with a usual photocamera. The model was brought to life by Serhii Prokopenko, CEO of Gwara Media who performed a 3D scanning as a war journalist, Fedir Boitsov and Alik Kadoum, co-founders of Pixelated Realities, 3D artists who processed the photo data into the textured model.
Due to the martial law in Ukraine, it is prohibited to take photos and videos, use drones without a war journalist accreditation and a special approval of local military administration. Please do not try to perform 3D scanning in Ukraine without any approval, or you are doing it at your own risk.
