Babylon 5 CGI Update + 4K Upscale (ft. Tom Smith)
Babylon 5 remastered to 4K, by fans!
If you don’t know Tom Smith and his channel, he has redone some VFX scenes from Babylon 5 using the original scene files and 3D models. These look amazing, but they did use low resolution live-action footage. This is where my specialty lies, so I reached out.
So we’ve done a short one-minute scene from season 2’s The Fall of Night. He’s delivered 4K VFX footage and I’ve upscaled the 1080p footage from the new 4:3 HBO Max version. This gives you an idea of what a true, full remaster of Babylon 5 would look like.
Note this is just a proof-of-concept and not a fan project. If you want something like this to be done to the entire series, contact the owners of Babylon 5.
