This is the recording of the first stream of the network programmability lab which occurred on 2018/01/07
During this stream we covered: YAML, Python module netmiko to interact with network devices via SSH and a little bit of asynchronous programming with netdev and asyncio modules.
Timecode:
04:49 - Current lab topology
23:20 - Configuring SSH management access on the devices manually
59:40 - Start of coding
1:02:12 - Inventory YAML file creation, Python virtualenv and YAML parsing in Python
1:35:34 - Forming parameters for netmiko (Python SSH library to connect to network devices)
1:59:00 - Writing outputs collector using netmiko
2:19:15 - Testing the script and refactoring code
2:28:40 - Concurrency in Python and asynchronous SSH connection to devices using Python netdev library
2:59:41 - Wrapping up
Please note that this content is stream-first and it is slow-paced by design. I recommend increasing playback speed in the player settings.
