Truck driver Fyodor Mukhin is a confirmed bachelor. Women love him, but he barely remembers everyone he's met. He doesn't even remember his teacher, Masha, from a small Ural town, from whom he one day receives a telegram asking him to come urgently. Something compels Fyodor to respond.
