Running Raspup (Puppy Linux for Raspberry Pi) on my Raspberry Pi Zero

I used Balena Etcher to write to micro SD card
Review: The OS boots to RAM, like all other Puppy Linux live distros. But it takes a while to load the image, I lost count of the minutes but over 5 and less than 15. Running anything other than a text editor uses more than 50% of the CPU utilization. Midori takes a while to load. Overall, it's better than nothing, but not as snappy as Tiny Core linux- athough that didn't have any applications preinstalled.
Ideally there is a puppy linux distro that has none of non-essential apps/drivers pre-installed, except for essential I/O (mouse, keyboard, display, and network hardware like wifi and lan) so more modules can be downloaded (or accessed via microSD) by hyperlink/pac manager for quick access. Minimum SD card size for image is 2GB! Why not offload it to SD and have the OS load far fewer drivers/modules...? Uncompressed image should be less than 256MB, imo. I did mistakenly mention the OS should be running under 1GB, which it wasn't running that much in RAM, but I was referring to the total image (on the SD- which isn't a storage issue, but a loading issue)

i bought mine over a year ago for $5. The Rasp Pi 3B + is a little nicer because it has ethernet and USB-A ports, along with full HDMI out.
If you don't need that and already have a mini-HDMI-to-HDMI cable and an OTG cable with a USB Hub, then the Pi Zero 2 is a slightly cheaper deal at $15.

Does this work better than the Raspberri Pi OS? I prefer Raspup running in RAM because it is faster than the stock OS, but I think the Raspberry Pi OS is a little more user friendly. If you know what all the apps are, this should not be too difficult (there are many other linux distros far more difficult).
For browsing without Javascript, Netsurf would be a much simpler browser to allow the CPU utilization under 75%. Midori being at 100% will cause delays even for casual browsing. Dillo is another fast browser but has even less modern support. https://www.netsurf-browser.org/

I've wanted to install Tiny Core Linux on the Rpi Zero, but I am not great with it, nor does mine have wifi, so I need to know some of the drivers. You can check out this video to see how well the performance looks compared to Raspup- around the 11:00 mark they load the desktop: • Tiny Core Raspberry Pi Zero W Install
