D. Pedro IV Square (Praça de D. Pedro IV), better known as Rossio Square, is one of the central squares of Lisbon. It is named after the 28th King of Portugal and first Emperor of Brazil, Pedro IV, to whom a monument stands in the center. The square has served as the site of touradas (bullfights), festivals, fairs, military parades, and even revolutions. Many people were executed in the square, as it served for a time as a site for public executions.

The Santa Justa Elevator (Portuguese: Elevador de Santa Justa), also known as the Carmo Elevator, is a lift in Lisbon (São Nicolau parish), designed to assist pedestrians in climbing a steep incline. It has been in operation since 1902, linking Rua do Ouro (below) with Largo do Carmo (above), thus connecting the low-lying Baixa district with the high-rise Chiado.

National Fishcake - review of Casa Portuguesa do Pastel de Bacalhau.
This fishcake is especially for tourists, but it's of excellent quality and a true calling card of Portugal. Try it if you find yourself in Portugal.
