Lesson 10 - Overdubbing MIDI Clips & Automation with Session Record Button
Ableton Live's Session Record Button not only allows us to Overdub new MIDI notes inside a clip, but it also lets us automatically record the movement of any control into the clip itself. Automation is the automatic movement of a control across Session or Arrangement views.
Ableton Clip Automation is extremely valuable, and often under-used. It allows us to create cool effects and movement inside individual clips to add interesting changes in our music. The best music producers and audio engineers today take full advantage of using Automation.
We'll talk more in-depth later on in the course about different ways we can use Automation to enhance our tracks.
