I’m going to be posting about family friendly things to do in Kauai Hawaii. Starting with a luau 🌺🌴
We went to the Smith Family Luau, Because of Covid, it is a little hard to get in so make sure to plan this event ahead of time. It is also one of the only luaus open on the island right now.

Smith’s #Kauai is a family-run business that began with just a rowboat and a borrowed outboard engine more than 50 decades ago.
Today, it’s expanded to add the Fern Grotto Wailua River Cruise, Smith’s Tropical Paradise (a 30-acre botanical and cultural backyard )
Included in your luau admission, you’ll have access to this exquisite Smith’s Tropical Paradise Garden. You can hop on the open-air tram (my kids LOVE it) or walk around at your own pace. And bring your camera as there are a lot of amazing photo opportunities and magnificent backdrops.
When you get over to the tables, the emcee came out and assembled guests around the imu pits. He spoke a bit about how they cook the pig with hot stones and ti leaves, just like their ancestors did.
Then we ate, to live music 🎵 the food options were really good. It’s also open bar.
This luau is the only #luau on Kauai that showcases Asian culture along with Polynesian cultures. The Tahitian dancing, & Maori dancing with poi balls was very impressive.
