How much you sweat indicates either the intensity of your workout or your fitness level (under the same climate conditions, of course). I haven't found any evidence that the more we sweat, the faster we burn fat.
You sweat more:
the higher the intensity of your workout.
Sweat serves to cool the body, and the more intensely you workout, the more heat your body produces. Training intensity refers to the amount of effort you exert per unit of time. The closer this effort is to maximum, the more intense the workout.
The better your fitness.
The better your fitness, the faster your body warms up. The faster it must cool down. And the more efficient your sweating.
Our body runs on a cocktail of two main fuels: carbohydrates and fat.
Glycogen is a very accessible fuel; the body easily converts it into energy. However, firstly, it is very scarce, and secondly, each gram contains half as much energy as fat. Therefore, it doesn't work as a long-term energy source.
With fat, it's exactly the opposite: it's plentiful and provides a lot of energy, but it's more difficult for the body to convert it into energy.
For short-term, intense exercise, such as sprinting or lifting maximum weights, when a burst of energy is needed, fat is not suitable as a fuel. Glycogen is needed for these bursts of energy.
The reason for more effective fat burning is also due to the heart rate at which we run slow jogging.
