Why isn't my electrical wiring working? It's possible the plug on the cord needs replacing—it happens. This video explains how to replace a plug on a cord, how to replace a plug on an extension cord, how to connect a plug, and a few other issues I encountered while trying to figure out why my extension cord wasn't working and when I started replacing the plug. The electrical plug may not be removable, so replacing it may require buying a new one. Connecting the plug to the cord begins with disassembling the plug and first threading the back portion through the cord, then connecting the front portion directly to the cord.
