ABOUT THE ALICORNS:
Prince Sonder is the son of Celestia and Sombra. As the eldest heir, he is also the most overlooked. This is because the Sombra that Celestia met was not from our Equestria, but instead from the mirror portal. As the lost prince of two different worlds, it seems Sonder is destined to never belong anywhere…
Prince Oberon is the son of Luna and Orion. Who is Orion? Nobody knows. All that Luna has ever shared is that he was a traveling Kirin rogue she met after returning from her banishment as Nightmare Moon. As a result, Oberon’s magic is just as much of a mystery as his father once was. He has become notorious for traveling between worlds as a haunting shadow.
Princess Flurry Heart is the daughter of Cadance and Shining Armor. Unlike her cousins, she has been in the public eye since the moment she was born, something that has begun to take a toll on her mind. The ponies of the Crystal Empire have already decided who she is and everything she should be, but nobody ever thought to ask for her thoughts on the matter. Seeking to reclaim her identity, she has begun to call herself “Mira” and run away from royal events to spend time with her squire.
ABOUT THE ELEMENTS:
In Equestria, alicorns had a special link to the domain that they were destined to rule. However, this link can be severed in the absence of control. Many years into her reign, Princess Twilight discovered that stars had stopped moving, with the sun and moon sure to follow. This was the consequence of Celestia and Luna retiring. The royal sisters had children, but neither inherited their mother’s image ability to move celestial bodies. Sonder’s magic was tied to shadows and Oberon’s to dreams. The only way to restore balance was creating new bodies to wield the royal sisters’ magic, for a pony had to be born with this power to properly control it.
Thus, with the blessing of her mentors and Equestria’s other rulers, Princess Twilight cast a powerful spell on the only artifact capable of embodying the royal sisters’ magic. The Elements of Harmony. After this spell was cast, the six elements were rebuilt as living ponies, new souls that were scattered across the land with different pieces of this magic. Only two of the elements manifested directly in the castle upon creation; Prince Violet Moon and Prince Atlas Sun, named after the celestial bodies they’d inherit. Twilight would take the two colts and raise them as her own. Many years later, she would also adopt a young Princess Eliza Magpie, the third element and embodiment of ancient crystal magic. Twilight suspects the royal sisters got this from Princess Amore, the Crystal Empire’s first ruler.
When will the rest of the elements be found? Why does Twilight fear that the royal sisters’ history will be repeated by her own sons? Only time will tell…
