Python is one of the main languages used for processing geospatial data. With the rise of sharing data in the cloud, cloud native geospatial data formats have been standardized and are adopted by a broad selection of tools. In this talk I will explain some the advantage of using these formats within the Field Boundaries for Agriculture (Fiboa) project. Fiboa aims to make field boundaries/field blocks openly accessible in a uniform format at a global level. This is made possible by an open specification for field boundaries. The project provides open-source software for conversion, a method for defining extensions, and a large dataset of freely available boundaries.
