Former Moderator of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, Joseph Obiri Yeboah Mante, has delivered a strong and emotional message on the dangers of illegal mining (galamsey).
He condemned the destruction of Ghana’s environment, stressing that wrongdoing must be called out regardless of political affiliation.
According to him, “If something is a sin, it is a sin… whether under Akufo-Addo or Mahama.” He warned that continued inaction could have devastating consequences for future generations, particularly due to the pollution of water bodies.
Rev. Mante also criticised attempts to silence voices speaking against galamsey, insisting that leaders and citizens alike must confront the issue boldly and without fear.
